Gerard Wrenn was born and raised in Cheshire, Connecticut where he started playing lacrosse in 5th grade and went on to play at Cheshire High School as a close defenseman. After high school, his college career started at Western Connecticut State University. He played three years there, mainly as a man-down specialist, took a year off, and coached a 7/8 youth team.
Gerry transferred to Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts for his final year of eligibility, was named captain and led the team in caused turnovers, resulting in a First-Team All-Conference selection. The next season he transitioned to joining their coaching staff as the defensive coach and helped guide them to a conference championship win. After coaching at Becker for two years and graduating, he moved out here to Washington.
